Welcome to Rose Class

We wrote to everyone in our end of term newsletter to tell you about the need for more school places in this part of Luton. The borough council asked us to create a new Year 2 class to provide places for some of the many families who were waiting for a aplce to become available.

The children who were allocated a place in this new class by Luton Borough Council admissions department all enjoyed their first day yesterday … and they all came back again for a second day today.

As you know, for many years we have had four classes in each year group, each named after either a bird, a flower, a mammal or a tree. Today the children in our fifth Year 2 class worked together with Mrs Blunt and Mr Khan to choose which family they wanted to join, and by a fair and democratic process they opted to become an extra Flower class and the name they chose for themselves is Rose Class.

We look forward to hearing how our new children are settling into Year 2. We hope that they all will be happy learners here at St Matthew’s Primary School.

We’d love to hear what you think, so why not add a comment here?
