Dear Parents and Carers,
When will they take place?
The Year 6 tests will take place in the week beginning 9th May 2022. Here is the test timetable:
Monday 9 May
English Grammar & Punctuation
Tuesday 10 May
Wednesday 11 May
Maths Paper 1 (Arithmetic)
Maths Paper 2 (Reasoning)
Thursday 12 May
Maths Paper 3 (Reasoning)
At what time of day will the tests take place?
The tests will take place at 9:45am each morning. It is essential that all children arrive at school on time so that they can be registered in time for the tests. You will receive a phone call from the school if your child is not in school by 9.00am. All children must attend school every day during SATs week. No medical appointments should be arranged.
When will I be notified of my child’s results?
As the tests are externally marked, the school will not have the results until July. Once these have been confirmed, parents will be notified of the results by letter before the end of the Summer Term.
How can I help my child to prepare for the tests?
It is important that the children come to school ready to do their best. A good night’s sleep before the tests is essential. A hearty breakfast is also key. SATs Breakfast Club will be available for all children.
Should my child be revising at home?
Encourage your child to do a small amount of revision each night. It is also important that they rest and relax. Go for a walk, play in the park, go for a bike ride, have a family meal. Activities such as these will allow the children to have some fun!
The pupils and staff have worked incredibly hard so that the children are able to do their best. We are all incredibly proud of the positive attitude our Year 6 pupils have displayed this year. We would like to also thank all the adults at home for their support.
If you have any further questions about the testing process, please come and speak to a member of the Year 6 Teaching Team.
