The new school year begins on
Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
Year 1 to 6
All children in Years 1 to 6 return on Wednesday 2nd September.
Year R New Starters
New starters joining our Reception classes will have a phased start. Reception staff will be making home visits from Wednesday 2nd to Monday 7th September.
All new starters will start Reception part-time from Tuesday 8th September before
they all attend from Monday 14th September.
We expect all new Reception pupils to be wearing school uniform when they are in
school.
Access points
As you can see from the map below, entry points 1-6 to our school grounds will be
in use:
(1) and (2) the main entrance on Havelock Road;
(3) the gate on Havelock Road into the Reception playground;
(4) the gate on High Town Road on to the High Town Road Playground;
(5) the gate in between our delivery entrance and the Greenbank Mews houses on
Cobden Street.
(6) the gate at the bottom of Cobden Street on to the North Street Playground.
(7) the gate adjacent to the Jungle Gym area on the North Street Playground is not
currently in use.
Please use the entrance gate that is most convenient for you.
Entry to classrooms is through the external classroom doors or through the doors between the Key Stage 1 and 2 buildings below the canopies past the circular courtyard with the painted picture walls. Staff will be positioned at the entry points and around the site to guide anyone who is not sure where to go.
Drop-off and Pick-up arrangements
On Wednesday 2nd September, children may arrive at any time from 8.30 –
9.15am. (Registration closes at 9.15am)
From Thursday 3rd September, children should arrive at the normal time of
8.40am (Years 1-2) and 8.45am (Years 3-6).
Dismissal at the end of the day is at the normal time of 3.20pm for Years 1 and 2
and 3.25pm for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Children should be collected from the external door of their own classroom. Again, staff will be around the school site to direct parents who may not be sure where to go.
Year 4 Drop-off & Pick-up points
To avoid congestion in the Year 4 courtyard at the end of the day, the pick-up locations for two of the classes will be in the circular courtyard on the other side of the glass corridor. Goldfinch Class will be dismissed from the doorway beneath the canopies, indicated on the map above with a pink star. Elm Class will be dismissed from the doorway from the glass corridor, indicated on the map above with a blue star. Panda (Y5) and Bluebell (Y4) classes will be released from their external doors into the courtyard.
Year 5 & 6 Walkers & Waiters
Children in Years 5 and 6 only are permitted to leave their classes at 3.25pm unaccompanied as long as parents and carers have given their permission. A ParentMail response form will be available for this purpose from 6:00pm midday on Friday 29th August.
Medication drop-off
If your child needs any medication during the school day, this can be handed over
to our Health Care Assistant, Mrs Patrick, who will be located outside the main
entrance (inside Gates 1 and 2) between 8.30 and 9.15am on Wednesday 2nd
September.
Medicines must not be given to class teachers
School lunches
Children in Years R, 1 and 2 all receive a free school lunch under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
Children moving from Year 2 into Year 3 now need to pay for a school meal each day unless they qualify for Benefit Related Free School Meals.
Children in Years 3 to 6 may choose to bring their own healthy packed lunch instead of choosing a cooked school lunch.
School meals continue to be ordered and paid for using the ParentMail app. Don’t forget to top up your account in ParentMail ready for the new term. Meals cost £2.90 per day (£14.50 per week).
School uniform

New school uniform items can be ordered from the Price & Buckland website.
We have a supply of pre-loved uniform items available at no cost, although items do need to be ordered – a form for this is available from our office in the main school entrance.
Don’t forget that the Level Trust charity offers free school uniform and support to
all Luton families through their Uniform Exchange, located upstairs in the main shopping mall in Luton town centre.

Supervision out of school hours
Our Breakfast Club and After School Care Club are both open from Wednesday 2nd
September.
Breakfast Club opens at 8.00am; After School Club is open from 3.20pm – 6.00pm.
As with uniform and school meals, payment for Breakfast Club and After School
Club is through the ParentMail app.
Any new families looking to join need to complete a registration form, available
from the school office.
