School MOVES – Understanding Why Children Move Schools

St Matthew’s is taking part in School MOVES: The School Mobility Outcomes, Voices and Experiences Study.

The national research project is looking at the experiences of children and families who move schools at times other than the usual transition points. Researchers want to understand why pupils move, how changing schools can affect their education and wellbeing, and what support can make the experience easier.

The findings will help schools, families and local authorities develop better support for children when they move from one school to another.

We’re pleased to be contributing to research that will help improve the experiences of children and families across England.

We look forward to sharing the outcomes of this research with you when we meet with our friends from the University of Birmingham again.
