St Matthew’s is fortunate to have a Family Centre and crèche staffed by our Family Workers and local Children’s Centre staff

The family workers arrange a number of courses and sessions for parents to become more familiar with what their children are learning and know how to help at home. Details are sent home via your child or contact a member of staff in the Family Centre.

If you have an individual concern about any learning or parenting issue, the family workers can provide advice. Please contact them to make an appointment.

  1. I did not know where to turn and had tried to get help from various places including citizen advice about my families housing needs. Things had got really bad and it was affecting my health and my children. I was told to speak to one of the family workers by my daughters teacher. The family worker I spoke to made a few calls on my behalf and was able to negotiate a discretionary payment to help with my rent. She also wrote a letter for me to take to housing. Without the help my family would have had to move home and my children possibly attend a different school. I can not say how grateful I am for the support. The family workers made me feel at ease and I felt a massive relief that I was being listened to and understood. Thank you again.
