As a result of school closures during the Covid-19 lockdowns, English primary school pupils did not take their 2020 SATs tests. SATs 2021 were also cancelled. SATs 2022 be going ahead as usual.
All schools are required to administer external tests to certain groups of pupils during the school year.
The Year 1 phonics screening test is administered during the week beginning Monday 6 June 2022.
The Year 2 SATs tests are administered at any time within the calendar month of May 2022.
The Year 4 multiplication tables check can be taken at any time between Monday 6 June to Friday 24 June 2022.
The Year 6 SATs tests take place from 9-12 May 2022.
Here at St Matthew’s, we will be administering the Year 2 SATs tests during the week beginning Tuesday 3 May and the week beginning Monday 16 May.
It is important that all children on roll complete these statutory assessments. The results enable the school, the local authority and the government to measure the progress that pupils are making during their time at St Matthew’s.
Consequently, no term-time holiday requested during these dates will be authorised by the school leaders.
We feel sure that all parents will appreciate the importance of these tests and we thank you for your continuing support in this matter.
