High Town Community Run Club

We are excited to announce a brand new community project starting next week, just for the adults.

Working alongside local community groups, Active Luton and the RunSome campaign, we will be hosting a weekly High Town community running group.

The group is aimed at parents, carers or anyone in the High Town area who would like to increase their activity levels, meet new people and also find out a little more about what’s available to them in the community.

This is not a club where you will be running with your school aged children, it’s a chance for the adults to take time for themselves!

Hosted by Mr Chaplen, our Sports and Community Manager here in school and the current RunSome Running Mayor of Luton, the group will be joined each week by representatives from different health care and community organisations. These representatives will join us on our jog, answer any questions you have about their organisation and let you know how they can support your family.

Each run will start at High Town Community Sports and Arts Centre at 12:15pm. The route will vary each week and cover approximately 2 miles through our local parks, finishing at one of our amazing coffee shops on High Town Road, for a drink and a further chance to socialise if you wish.

When it comes to running, everyone has their own speed, but don’t worry, no one will be left behind! The group will go out at a very steady pace, the focus is more about meeting people, being outdoors and learning about our community.

Parents and carers are more than welcome to join us with children in buggies, depending on the numbers we will either run as a group, or break off into small bubbles.

If you would be interested in attending one of our community runs there is no need to register or pay, just meet us outside the community centre at 12:15pm. (session dates below)

We look forward to seeing lots of you there!

RUN DATES

The first phase of our run club will be in line with the school half term, if successful we will restart in September.
