We are excited to announce the return of our community running group, working alongside local community groups, Active Luton and the RunSome campaign we will be hosting a weekly High Town community running group.
The group is aimed at parents, carers or anyone in the High Town area who would like to increase their activity levels, meet new people and also find out a little more about what’s available to them in the community.
This half term we will have two weekly sessions:
Monday 4-4:30pm, ‘the after school run’. Meet outside the main school gates on Havelock Rd just before 4pm.
Friday 12:15pm ‘the lunch run’. Meet outside High Town Community Sports and Arts Centre just before 12:15pm.
Hosted by St Matthew’s staff the route will vary each week and cover approximately 2 miles through our local parks with the option to stop for a coffee at the end in one of our amazing coffee shops on High Town Road for a drink and a further chance to socialise if you wish.
When it comes to running, everyone has their own speed, but don’t worry, no one will be left behind! The group will go out at a very steady pace. The focus is more about meeting people, being outdoors and learning about our community.
Parents and carers are more than welcome to join us with children in buggies, depending on the numbers we will either run as a group, or break off into small bubbles.
If you would be interested in attending one of our community runs you don’t need to sign up, just meet us at the start point for either session.
We look forward to seeing lots of you there!
