Our classes are having Harvest assemblies this week to promote our annual Luton Foodbank collection.
The children have been taught about the importance of being thankful for what we have and thinking about others who may be really struggling to provide food for their families.
We will be collecting donations this Friday to pass on to Luton Foodbank. We currently have 889 pupils on roll at St Matthew’s and close to 150 staff, so if everyone brought in one packet or jar or box or tin, we could give around 1000 items to the Foodbank.
These are the key items that are always needed by the Foodbank:
| Rice pudding (Tinned) | Instant Noodles | Meat (Tinned) |
| Custard (Tinned) | Vegetables (Tinned) | Fruit (Tinned) |
| Fruit Juice (Carton) | Dried Rice (500g) | Soup |
| Milk (UHT) | Baked Beans (Tinned) | Tomatoes (Tinned) |
| Fish (Tinned) | Tinned Pasta in Sauce | Sauce for Pasta |
| Breakfast Cereal | Tea Bags | Biscuits (single packs) |
| Sugar (500g) | Pasta (500g) |
Other useful items: toothpaste, washing detergent, soap, shower gel, feminine hygiene products, paper towels.
Please remember that food should have at least a three-month ‘best before’ date and must be stored properly before donating.
Please bring in your donations for our Foodbank collection on Friday morning.
Thank you very much.
