The children in our Charity Committee would like to share the information on the first fundraising event of the year.
On the final day of the half term, Thursday 23rd October, to celebrate Autumn, we will be
holding a Pumpkin Carving Competition. All of the pumpkin entries will be displayed in our
pop-up Pumpkin Museum!
Children from all year groups are invited to decorate or carve their own pumpkin in any way
they wish. Then, on the final day of the term, children can bring their entry into school, with a 50p
donation to enter their pumpkin into the museum.
Pumpkins can be bought for between £1 and £2 from most supermarkets.
Throughout the day everyone will have the chance to visit the museum and vote on their
favourite pumpkin from each year group, with prizes for the winning pumpkins.
At the end of the day, all of the pumpkin entries will be delivered back to the children’s class to
bring home safely.
Rules:
● One pumpkin per child
● Pumpkins can be carved or painted/decorated
● No live candles are to be brought into school
● Minimum 50p donation must be made when dropping your pumpkin off
● Children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 can take their pumpkin to their classroom in the
morning
● Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 can bring their entries straight to the KS2 Hall
All money raised through this event will be added to money raised at future events and at the
end of the year will be divided equally between:
Locally: Luton Foodbank
Nationally: Stand Up to Cancer
Internationally: Cool Earth
The charity committee would like to thank everyone for their support and they look forward to
seeing all of the children’s fantastic pumpkins on Thursday 23rd October!
