Today was the first day of the Key Stage 2 tests and our Year 6 pupils all arrived at 8am to enjoy a hearty breakfast of cereals, beans on toast, egg on toast, fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, yoghurt and fruit juice. This set them all up magnificently for the first test of the week – English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Teachers provided an exemplary waiter/waitress service and the calm and peaceful atmosphere was enhanced with some gentle and relaxing background music.

i loved the food! it was a great start to my day!
i loved it! The food was delicious!
Thank you very much for everything you do with the children, as always, tirelessly, bravo!
Thank you so much for your comment. You will see from the photos we have added this morning that this is a whole school effort to give all the children the best start to the day. Although the tests are referred to as Year 6 SATs, we always stress that they are the culmination of, in many cases, almost seven years of being a St Matthew’s pupil and it’s great to see so many staff who may have taught these pupils from Year R through to Year 5 getting involved with supporting them now.
The food was delicious and lots to eat!
