We would like to say a huge thank you to the Jason Robinson Foundation (JRF) for the fantastic support they have given to St Matthew’s children and families over the summer holidays.
The Foundation ran a brilliant two-week summer holiday club at St Matthew’s, as part of the Energise Luton Holiday Activity and Food Programme, giving children the opportunity to enjoy a packed programme of sports, games, arts and crafts and other activities. Healthy snacks were provided each morning, along with lunches from Lals Kitchen, and the children had a wonderful time making friends, trying new activities and building their confidence.
The feedback from the children was fantastic, with many asking whether the team would be returning for another week! One child summed up her experience perfectly:

New Trainers, Bags and Clothing for Our Families
The Foundation also made an incredibly generous donation of brand-new trainers, bags, clothing and water bottles for St Matthew’s children.
This morning, we invited families who receive benefits-related Free School Meals, along with families with no recourse to public funds, to a special drop-in session at school. Families were able to choose from the new items donated by JRF, as well as a selection of items provided by school, including clothing from our Pre-Loved Uniform Store.
The response was amazing. We were inundated with families and the donated items disappeared incredibly quickly!
It was lovely to see how much the donations were appreciated, particularly at a time of year when the cost of getting children ready for a new school year can place additional pressure on family budgets.
A special thank you also goes to the St Matthew’s staff who voluntarily gave up their time during the summer holidays to help organise and run the morning.
We are enormously grateful to everyone at the Jason Robinson Foundation for supporting our school community so generously.
From providing two weeks of fun, friendship, food and activities during the holidays to supplying brand-new trainers, clothing and bags for our families, their support has made a very real difference.
