Luton Borough Council have brought in a brand new activity for children and families to access across the town that will help boost the amount of time we all spend active and make the journey to school a little more interesting!
Our school’s Eco Team would like to introduce the world of Street Tag.
Street Tag is an app that promotes active travel. Each school across the town is a team. All of the children in our school can join Team St Matthew’s and help us make our way to the top of the Luton leaderboard for active travel.
Across the town there are lots of virtual markers. Once registered on the app, whenever you come within 40 metres of one of these virtual tags, you will gain points for the school. The more tags you walk by, the more points we earn.
Please use the videos below to help sign your child up to Team St Matthew’s, and then every time you are walking, scooting, or cycling with your child, you have the chance of earning some points.
This app is designed for children to do with their grown-ups, not alone. We would love to see as many children across the school taking part as possible and being part of Team St Matthew’s.
The leaderboard is live now, so as soon as you have created your account, you are ready to join our team and get active!
The current competition between Luton schools has now started and ends on 30th March, we hope to see lots lots of you getting involved over the half term!
