What would make Wardown Park’s play area even better? A group of our Year 5 and Year 6 children had the chance to share their ideas with Luton Borough Council one lunchtime this week.
The children explored the proposed plans, studied the maps closely and thought about parks they had enjoyed visiting. They suggested water and sand play, space for wildlife and plenty of slides. They also explained why a clean, safe play area matters to them.
Their feedback will help inform plans for Wardown Park as part of the council’s wider Play Area Refurbishment Programme. Over the next two years, the council plans to invest £3 million in its 60 playgrounds, alongside £500,000 to improve sports pitches across Luton.
We were proud to see the children spot the finer details and speak so thoughtfully about a space that local families will enjoy.
