On Friday 22nd May, we will be hosting a special Pop-Up Community Breakfast and Coffee Café at the front of the school, open to staff, parents, carers and family members between 8:00am and 10:00am.
This event is being held in memory of Mrs Tina Dennehy, who worked at St Matthew’s for over thirty years in a variety of roles, most recently within our Around the Clock, Breakfast and After School Clubs. Tina was diagnosed with cancer just before Easter and, after a very short illness, sadly passed away. During this difficult time, the support given to Tina and her family by Keech Hospice was invaluable.
As a school community, we would like to come together to honour Tina’s memory while raising money to support the incredible work Keech continues to do for families across our local area.
Non-Uniform Day
Children are invited to come to school in non-uniform and may choose to:
- Wear normal clothes
- Wear Tina’s favourite colour, sapphire blue
- Dress in the colours of one of the Rugby Six Nations teams, which Tina loved watching:
- England
- Wales
- Scotland
- Ireland
- France
- Italy
At the Community Café
There will be a range of refreshments available to purchase with cash donations, including:
- Hot breakfast rolls made by our RELISH kitchen team
- Tea and coffee
- Cakes sold by our Year 6 Enterprise Group, Cakey Bakey

A seating area will be available at the front of the school, and we warmly invite you to stay for a short while after drop-off to enjoy breakfast, a hot drink and time together as a community.
The money raised through the breakfast café and non-uniform day will help Keech Hospice continue to provide the same care and compassion shown to Tina and her family.
We are asking families, where possible, to make a donation through our whole-school SuperKind page using the link below. Please also feel free to share this with friends and family so that together we can show our appreciation for the amazing support Keech provides.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for our breakfast morning next week — and hopefully enjoying a little sunshine too.
