Starting today, Tuesday 20th October, we will be selling merchandise from the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. We will continue on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal raises vital funds to support serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families. Donations help provide practical, financial and emotional support to those who need it. The poppy is also a symbol of remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. Wearing one honours the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community and helps younger generations understand the importance of remembrance. Supporting the Poppy Appeal helps us remember those who have served while caring for those who need help today.
Children from our Charity Committee will visit Year R, 1 and 2 classes each morning for children to buy items to support this worthy cause.
Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 can visit the Pop-Up Poppy Shop in the Year 4 corridor next to the KS2 Hall when they have eaten their lunch.
This year, the Royal British Legion has supplied SNAP BANDS (£2), REFLECTOR KEY RINGS (1), RUBBER WRIST BANDS (£1), FABRIC WRIST BANDS (50p), PENCILS (50p), and ZIP TAGS (50p). We also have lots of regular paper poppies available for any voluntary donation of your choosing.
Depending on what merchandise we have left, we hope to continue with the sale after the half term break.
