As we come to the end of the school year, we can look back on some of the learning we have done. It’s not all reading, writing and arithmetic as you can see from these two videos that showcase the creative subject of Music.
Year 4 have been learning to play the ukulele with Mr Green each week.
Similarly, pupils in Year 5 move onto learning to play the guitar. They soon see that many skills and techniques are transferable between the ukulele and the guitar – it’s just a case of getting used to playing a bigger instrument with more strings.
Many terms in music are the same whatever instrument you are learning – for example, pitch, tempo, dynamics, etc.
