Think Before You Buy

With Christmas fast approaching, e-scooters may be on many children’s wish lists. But before you buy, make sure you know the facts.

Privately owned e-scooters cannot legally be ridden on public roads, pavements, cycle paths, parks or other public spaces. Despite their popularity, they are not toys and can pose serious risks to riders, pedestrians and other road users.

A collision at speed, a loss of control, or even hitting a kerb can result in life-changing injuries. Across the country, police and healthcare services continue to see the consequences of illegal and unsafe e-scooter use.

This Christmas, don’t waste your money:

🛴 Police can seize e-scooters and illegal e-bikes being used unlawfully
🛴 You could lose hundreds of pounds
🛴 A Christmas gift could quickly become a disappointment

Before purchasing an e-scooter as a gift, take the time to understand the law and consider safer alternatives. Think before you buy.
