Enforced School Closure - 23rd March 2020 - TBC
Following the announcement on Wednesday 18th March by Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education, all schools will close on Friday 20th March at the close of the day.
In accordance with Department for Education guidelines, St Matthew’s will remain partially open to provide child care for the children of key workers who are unable to make other provision and for vulnerable pupils.
A “skeleton” school staff will be present to ensure adequate supervision for these pupils. Two members of the school’s senior leadership team will always be present, and the staff team will always include at least one qualified first aider.
The rest of the staff will be working from home, preparing home learning activities for the children not attending school. These activities will be published regularly on the year group blogs. There will be a mixture of academic activities as across the range of National Curriculum subjects as well as fun activities that we hope the children will engage with throughout their time away from school.
We will also publish information, advice and guidance that we hope parents and carers will find useful.
