Y6 Orchid Class – Change of teacher

To Orchid Class parents/carers,

As you are probably aware, Mr Kirkpatrick has been away from school for two weeks and Mr Miah has been teaching Orchid Class in his absence.

As many of you will already be aware, Mr Kirkpatrick’s young daughter is undergoing treatment for childhood leukemia, which is why he is not currently in school.

Mr Kirkpatrick hopes to return to school around February half term, but this is not an exact date and depends very much on how his daughter’s treatment progresses. Year 6 is a very important year for your children, their last at primary school as they prepare to move onto high school academically and socially.

With this in mind and the uncertainty of a date for Mr Kirkpatrick’s return, I am pleased to tell you that from Monday 6th December Mrs Bardon and Mr Bell will become Orchid’s class teachers indefinitely. Together we have spoken to the children today and explained this arrangement to them, answering any questions they themselves had. Both Mrs Bardon and Mr Bell are well versed in all things Year 6: curriculum, SATs and pastoral care, your children will be in exceptionally good hands.

If you do have any queries about the arrangements for Orchid Class please speak to Mrs Bardon or Mr Bell in the first instance and I will of course keep you informed of any further developments.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Ms J. Thomas
