Mobile Testing Unit – PCR tests

Dear Parents & Carers,

Mobile Testing Unit in school tomorrow and Thursday this week

As you are all aware we have a very high number of pupil and staff positive COVID cases in school at the moment. Despite government reports that cases are reducing, this is not our experience in school.

Public Health England have suggested there are a large number of asymptomatic cases, meaning children have Covid but do not show any symptoms, so unless they are tested, they could be spreading it at home, at school and in the wider community without knowing.

This is what we need to try and stop the spread together.

So an enormous “Thank You” to all of you who have been testing your children at home. So far, 31 positive cases have been identified by you … this will really help us curb the spread, so school can stay open for all your children.

To help us in this fight we have organised with Public Health England for a mobile PCR testing unit to be at school on Wednesday and Thursday this week, to test children with parental consent and staff.

This will be at the front of the school from 8.30am-4.30pm.

You will shortly receive a consent form to fill in for your child and send back to us, without this your child cannot be tested. Results will be known within 24 hours.

If you would rather be with your child whilst they have a PCR you can take them to the unit yourself between 8.30-9.30am and 3.00-4.00pm.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let the NHS test your child…..we are doing this so we can stop the spread of Covid and school can stay open.

Yours sincerely,

Ms J. Thomas & Ms D. Thompson
