15 September 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,
Today, eight Year 6 pupils travelled to London to represent our school and lay flowers for Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace and to leave a set of poems, one written by each class, in memory of the Queen.
Tomorrow, from 8am, there will be a Book of Condolence at our Havelock Road entrance, near our main reception, for you to sign or write a personal message in if you’d like to. These books will be put in Luton’s Local Archive at the Town Hall for future generations to see.
The children who visited London today will be there, proudly looking after the Book of Condolence, and I’m sure they’ll be happy to talk about their experience with you all.
On Monday 19th September we will be closed, as instructed by the government, for the Queen’s State Funeral.
We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 20th September for a normal school day.
Thank you for your continuing support.
Yours sincerely,
Jane Thomas
Headteacher
