Between Monday 24th and Friday 28th May we will be hosting our first Sports & Arts Week, celebrating everything it means to be creative!
The children will have the chance to experience a wide range of ways of expressing themselves, through sport, drama, dance, art, music, reading, poetry, the written word and many more.
The aim of Sports & Arts Week is to help our children to find out what inspires them and to have the chance to get “hands on” with multiple activities each day. We want them to realise that you don’t have to be an expert at something to find enjoyment from it, as well as that there are so many different ways we can be both active and creative. By the end of the week, we hope that every child will have tried something new, and hopefully something that they would love to do again!
During Sports & Arts Week, starting on Monday 24th May, children will need to come to school in their PE kit for the whole week. Please ensure they are wearing trainers or shoes they can run around in.
To round off the week on Friday 28th May we will hold our annual ‘Wear Your Colours’ day! All children and staff can come into school wearing the colour of their classes family:
As well as this, on Friday our catering company, Miquill will be putting on a whole school BBQ to celebrate the end of Sports & Arts Week.
It would not be a true St Matthew’s event if there were not a video to get things going … so look what we have in the box below!
