Before March 2020, one of the the highlights of our school week was always the Friday Celebration Assemblies.
Each class family – Birds, Flowers, Mammals and Trees – came together to celebrate the achievements of pupils during the previous week.
Even after the re-opening of the school to all pupils back in September, there was no way we could have six class “bubbles” together in one of the halls at the same time. So since the start of the Autumn term, Celebration Assemblies have been paused.
After a test event last Friday, each family held a virtual assembly today. Everyone stayed in their own class bubbles, but joined together through the power of ZOOM – the video conferencing programme.
In the screenshot below, you can see the six Birds classes from Year 1 to Year 6. Mr Bell was in the office, keeping everything running smoothly, ably assisted by Mrs Rayner who moved briskly between the classes – jingling and jangling in a somewhat fetching pair of Christmas slippers – to present the special awards to this week’s winners.
Well done to everyone – from all the classes – who received an award. We’re proud of your achievements and we’re so pleased we can still celebrate safely.
Keep working hard, everyone! Next week, it might be you!
