After a challenging Autumn term, we had expected to return to school after the Christmas and New Year break to continue working together under the “new normal” procedures, while also hoping we would slowly get back to how things were around about this time last year.
Sadly, the rise in cases of COVID-19, both nationally and locally, and the emergence of the more transmissible new-variant strain of the Coronavirus, has meant the Government has increased restrictions affecting everyone’s work and home life, including schools.
Schools are, once again, closed to almost all pupils except for the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils. This time, however, we are better equipped to provide online remote learning through our Google Classroom platform. Lessons are posted online each day for all year groups, including video presentations by members of staff and occasionally “live lessons”. Each class has a morning and afternoon check-in with their class teacher on Google Meet, enabling the children to interact with each other and the adults who normally work with them in class.
We will continue to keep you up-to-date with news and essential information here on our website as normal.
