Remembrance 2020 – The Poppy Appeal

At this time of year, we would normally start selling poppies and other items to raise money for the annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Sadly, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to do this in the normal way.

However, you can still help us to raise money for this worthy cause via our own Virgin Money Giving page which has been set up by Mr Bell, one of our Acting Deputy Headteachers.

Every donation makes a difference to the lives of our services community. Remembrance honours those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life. We unite across faiths, cultures and backgrounds to remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth.

We have set a target of £400. With more than 900 pupils and staff at St Matthew’s, we think that is a realistic target. (The Virgin Money Giving site requires a minimum £1 donation)

If you would like to help us support the Poppy Appeal, follow the link below to go to the Virgin Money Giving page to give what you can.
