Rainbow Club – Bank Holiday

This Friday 8th May is a Bank Holiday (moved from Monday 4th) to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe (VE Day in 1945.

Our Rainbow Club provision for the children of key workers will be CLOSED on Friday, re-opening on Monday 11th May.

    1. Friday is a bank holiday, so enjoy the day doing whatever you feel like doing. If you’ve been coming to school for Rainbow Club, that will not be happening on Friday. Stay safe and enjoy the weekend.

      1. If the virus had not been around, there would have been a lot of special events taking place all around the country to remember the end of the Second World War in 1945 (75 years ago). May 8th was known as VE Day – Victory in Europe. These events, which would have been attended by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family, as well as the Prime Minister and other members of the Government, have all had to be cancelled to keep everyone safe. But people have come up with interesting ideas for celebrating at home. There will still be TV programmes shown all about VE Day so try to have a look at one of two of them to find out what VE Day was all about.
