Early May Bank Holiday 2020 date change

In a recent announcement, HM Government has confirmed that the date of the Early May Bank Holiday, commonly known as the May Day Bank holiday, is to be moved for one year only in 2020.

The bank holiday will move from Monday 4 May to Friday 8 May.

The reason for the change is to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day which takes place on 8 May, and to enable people to pay tribute to those who served in one of the most significant events in British history.

We have updated our Term Dates page to reflect this change.
