Day 2 of our Queen Bee Bike & Hike Challenge comprised two parts with our team of cyclists setting off from South Witham in Lincolnshire at 5.00am to head for Barton-le-Clay in some challenging wet and windy weather conditions. Then at midday, almost two hundred staff and their families and friends gathered at Barton Rovers Football Club to welcome the riders, before setting off on the 10k hike over Warden Hills towards Luton, ending up at back at school in High Town for a celebratory reception. Here are some more @StMatthewsLuton tweets that give you a flavour of the day.
We’ve done it! Reached our target on Just Giving alone! No-uniform donations, cake sale takings, children’s raffle and icepop sales will push the total even higher. Guess what? You can still donate at https://t.co/G4lcwSy1Hl Just Giving won't refuse to take your cash! #QB173— St Matthew's Luton (@StMatthewsLuton) April 27, 2019
to everyone who took part in our Queen Bee Bike & Hike Challenge and helped to make it such a huge success.
We will know the final total raised when we add the online donations at Just Giving to the money already banked and the cash that came into school this week through the raffle coin sheets and the sale of ice pops on Friday. Watch this space!
Raffle prize winners will be notified in school on Monday. We will also publish a list of names of all winners here next week.
