Luton Travel Awards

On Thursday Mr Chaplen and Ms Thomas were lucky enough to take three children along to the Luton Travel Awards held at The Meads Primary School, in association with Sustrans, Mode Shift and Luton Borough Council.

Over the last eighteen months, the school have been working towards gaining Bronze Mode Shift status that we achieved just before the summer holidays. Through this we were then nominated for an award at the Luton Travel Awards.

There were lots of schools involved and it was fantastic to hear about all of the great things everyone has been doing to promote active travel.

We are very pleased to say that we were successful in winning the award for ‘Working Effectively with Various Agencies. This was due to the partnership work we have been involved in alongside companies and charities such as ZSL Whipsnade Zoo who took part in a Skype session with the children talking about the effect that climate change is having on wildlife.

Thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this award and we look forward to working towards our Silver Mode Shift accreditation this year!
