St Matthew’s School has been associated with Laughology for around five years. We were the first ever Happy Centred School, piloting ideas and strategies, alongside Laughology’s experts in pupil and staff well-being, to create a programme that is now being implemented in many schools around the country.
Laughology celebrated its tenth anniversary in November 2016 with the launch of the first Laughology National Happiness Awards presented at a special ceremony in London with St Matthew’s scooping TWO AWARDS on the night.
For the 2017 National Happiness Awards, Laughology introduced a new award category – Happiest Pupil – and we are proud to announce that one of our own Year 5 pupils, Callum Carr from Kingfisher Class, was the overall national winner.
Callum was nominated by teachers from St Matthew’s for his bright, cheerful and happy outlook on life, despite his having to manage some difficult health problems.
Callum and his family, accompanied by staff from St Matthew’s, attended the awards presentation evening at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in London.
