Everyone had a fantastic day yesterday, starting at school to get into the costumes, masks, make-up and t-shirts, before heading down to Wardown Park to join the amazing parade along New Bedford Road, Stockingstone Road, Old Bedford Road and Cromwell Hill.
Mr Green has been working his movie-making magic again and produced this super two-minute video of highlights from Sunday’s carnival preparations and procession.
Here are some photos of all of our characters – badgers, bees, bunnies, butterflies, daffodils, ducklings, eagles, ladybirds, owls, poppies, robins, trees, stars, planets, astronauts – making St Matthew’s Primary School the largest group ever to have taken part in the forty years of Luton International Carnival!
Here are some pictures from the weeks of preparation and the big day.
Earlier this week, Mrs Edwards and Mr Green visited the BBC Three Counties Radio studios to talk to the Breakfast Show presenter Luke Ashmead about St Matthew’s Primary School’s involvement in this year’s colourful extravaganza. You can listen to the interview below.
